According to the statistics from Statistics Argentina, Argentina’s volume of goods trade was USD64.59 billion from January to July in 2016, down 5.9% year-on-year (the same below). Exports fell by 4.0% to USD32.65 billion, and imports fell by 7.7% to USD31.95 billion. Compared with the trade deficit last year of USD0.61 billion, this year’s trade surplus was USD0.7 billion.

In July, Argentina’s volume of goods trade fell by 14.3% to USD9.62 billion. Exports fell by 11.4% to USD4.93 billion and imports fell by 17.2% to USD4.69 billion. And the trade surplus was USD0.24 billion.

Since January to July, bilateral trade volume between Argentina and China grew by 6.3% to USD8.93 billion. Argentina’s exports to China fell by 17.6% to USD2.84 billion. It accounted for 8.7% of Argentina’s overall export, down 1.4%. And Argentina’s imports from China grew by 22.5% to USD6.09 billion. It accounted for 19.1% of Argentina’s overall imports, up 4.7% over the previous year. Argentina’s trade deficit with China grew by 112.9% to USD3.25 billion.

China was the second largest export market of Argentina and its second largest source of imports up to July in 2016.
